60 years ago, in 1958, Sergio Zavoli won the Premio Italia with his radio-documentary on the "cloistered nuns": a reportage that caused a sensation because for the first time the microphones of Rai (Italian National Television) had access to the secrets of the monastery and was able to interview the nuns who live a in contemplative life context. Today Rai Vaticano returns into the Italian monasteries to tell the story of the young women who choose prayer, silence and hiding. In Italy they are 5000, in the rest of the world they are over 38000. They are often young people, graduates, who surf the Net and use the social with "discernment". This reportage offers interviews and exceptional images of cloistered nuns from the monasteries of Otranto, Caldarola (Mc) and Rome. In addition, exclusive interviews with seven young postulants.
